Very big bedroom decorating/moving in tips? I am a high school sophomore and I have a sister who will be graduating and moving out this year. In my house there is a very big room (14' 7.5" X 39' 3") acroos the stairway from my room.It also has a small "notch" off of it that measures 4'4" X 7' 5".My parents have agreed to let me move into it when my sister leaves. How should I decorate such a large space? It also only has one window so what are some good ways to keep it looking bright. I was planning on painting it a pale yellow. The floors are linoleum (sp?). Decorating the bedroom need some ideas? My boyfriend and I are busy decorating our first house before we can move in. We are onto the bedroom and need a cheap easy but stylish way of decorating it. There is a hideous red carpet down at the mo which will go eventually...if i have my way! He has bought a black/white duvet set with diamond pattern on, ( I havent seen it yet) and he was wanting to just paper the room white i think it would look too cold. The paper has to be embossed kind due to the state of the walls. He also has some black and white prints of New York he is putting up. What colour schemes could we use that the duvet cover would go with? Even if we just painted the 1 wall that the bed head goes against... I wouldnt really like just black and white (im sunderland lol) Anyone with any ideas? its only a small room. what to do with my bedroom (16yo, decorating wise)? my parents are renovating the house, the first thing they did was renovate their bedroom (paint and all) and add an ensuite to their bedroom. next was the kitchen, then they added an extension to the family room. all the while little ol me is downstairs in a excrement hole. i have ripped and torn carpet from the 70's. filthy 20yo curtains, my room was made smaller for them to change the staircase (doesnt worry me) so i have exposed drywall, hasnt even been patched and sanded. my other walls are just filthy blonde bricks. ANYWAY ive had enough, its like theve forgotten me, tomorrow ill be moving all my furniture outside and doing the prep work so they have 2 reno my room next. i need design tips, im thinking of going with white walls, black bedspread with black accessories and stainless steel lamps/ accessories as well but it seems a little bland. how can i spice it up a bit? id like to keep it within budget (id be payin for all accessories) but i am able 2 splurge on a few things

Decorating a really small bedroom with modern style? Help! I have a small bedroom (maybe 10x11 feet) that I have somehow managed to squeeze a queen bed, a dresser, and an armoire into. I am about to redecorate it, and I want to make it look bigger without using colors I don't like. I really like brown, light or dark, and other warm colors. Red is my second favorite. But I fear that red would overwhelm people in the small space. The floor in my room is carpeted in white, and the ceiling is white, too. I can't change those things. I can paint the walls though.
