- I think that it would be neat to have alot of things in his room that say his name and maybe some memoriable things of when you were pregnant. I have my sons room done in st.louis cardinals just becuase he was born after they won the world series. I also have the wooden letter that say his name over his bed. I found out I was pregnant when I was in charlotte nc so I have a couple of things in it from charlotte to remind him of where we were when I found out I was having him. I don't like the disney rooms either so I just personalized it with names and some things of charlotte and some things of mine and my fiances when we were babies in it.
- why not paint the ceiling to look like the sky with clouds and all- I always wanted to do that! or maybe just do a color theme like picking one color and doing different shades and patterns revolving around one color! good luck to you and have fun!
- I have a little boy whose room is painted a baby blue {and the trim, door and closet door is painted two shades darker} and then I have his name painted on the wall with little sports shapes around it. And because his name is Noah,I have a couple of pictures that are Noah's ark. And then he has a madacasgar movie poster in his room. And thats basically it because I don't want to go overboard with the"baby/toddler" design because he's gonna be 13 and wanting to paint it bright demon red next week LOL AndI also have a little girl and I basically did the same thing in her room, except its painted purple and around her name I have little shapes that look like phones, shoes, lipstick tubes, etc. And then she has a couple ofpictures hanging in her room that I had hanging in mine when i was little. If you would like me to email you pictures of their rooms just to give you an idea, email me and I can send them to you. My email addy is supermom12042702@yahoo.com
- how about blue and red blue walls and red curtains most things fit with these colours and as your child gets oldder they will not need frequent changing
- You could pick out the colors you want to use and then create a border on the wall using the handprints of all of your family members (mom, dad, kids) and put their names underneath. Use the colors you picked throughout the room and maybe have his things monogrammed. This would grow with him better than a themed room.
- Hi there. My son never had his own room until he was 10 months when we moved and we wanted a room that would see him through until he was almost 12 sort of age. We got a mural for one wall from a website called Kids Rooms or something like that - the same mural was on a few different websites. It was of a Jungle. It has almost every animal imaginable on it! Very lifelike but not frightening at all. We also ordered glow in the dark stars and planets wall paper which we put on the ceiling. So with the mural on one wall, the rest magnolia and the space ceiling his room is amazing! The mural was only around £25 and the wallpaper about £6 a roll (needed 3) so it was very inexpensive. Hopefull the mural will last a while before he gets bored of it. He's 19 months now and loves looking at the animals, finding out what noises they make and linking them with the animals in his story books. We didn't want to get a totally 'boys' theme as I find them a bit patronising (eg football, trucks etc) but we figured that everyone likes animals!
