Open Master Bedroom - no door on bathroom?

My husband and I want to remodel our master bathroom (the bedroom is fine) but it's extremely tiny! Unless we start knocking down walls, there is literally, no place to increase space or install a bathtub which I really want. Anyway, I was thinking about hiring a bathroom designer to integrate the bathroom with our master bedroom. I'd like to use vanities and tubs that don't look like bathroom fixtures but instead like furniture or works of art. I think this would blend better. Does anyone have any links or pictures to this type of room? Thanks.

  1. No links, but consider some options before actually doing it. Think about times when you might be sick, or just want some alone time in the privacy of the bathroom away from kids and husband and everyone. I can see it being fine with a tub or sink without having a door, but a toilet? Hmmm. Not romantic at all! What about an accordion door or bi-fold. Something that doesn't have to open out or in.
  2. 1 word....."smell"
  3. lol this is kind of cheesy but there was a room like this in our suite when we went on vacation http://www.wglakes.com/gallery/index.htm there is the link
  4. Build in some type of double-pocket doors. You know, doors that slide into the wall. One on each side should allow a large enough opening (two doors wide) to make it seem like an open area but allow for privacy in time of need ( floor plan permitting). Good Luck.....
