I am having some issues with decorating my master bedroom. Help!?
I have a rather large space (17x17 ft) with a vaulted ceiling that angles up and creates a plant shelf above the door to the master bath. I would like some suggestions on what to do with this shelf area. It is about 12 ft long and 4 ft deep and is about 9 ft from the floor and is 5 ft tall. I would say that our style is "transitional" not too contemporary and not too traditional. Also I am having trouble with the color scheme. Our furniture is dark cherry, our bedding is khaki and creme striped and the carpet is beige. The walls are currently khaki and all of the neutrals are starting to get to me!! I would like to add some color but with such large walls I am afraid of being overwhelmed. Any help is greatly appreciated!! Thanks!

- i would probably fill the space above the door with a sculpture of some sort (try pier one or bombay company). i think that maybe some light grayish tones with hints of blue would look very nice on your walls to complement the contemporary side. otherwise you should go your local paint store and pick up some paint swatches or even some sample colors that you can actually paint on your wall to try. this website provides some beautiful colors and ideas. for your situation i would suggest checking out the urban loft, whitewash and thoroughbred colors. http://rlhome.polo.com/rlhome/products/paint/items.asp?haid=120&f=lp&start=0
- Some ideas for you: * a funky colorful rug * interesting lamp shades * colorful throw pillows * add color with curtains * hang art or fabrics on the wall
- I recently painted our master bath Lemongrass by Sherwinn Williams. It is so peacful beautiful, not overwhelming at all. The shelves you are referring to you you can put plant of vases anything will work. Also, if you wanted to bring it all together you can find a pattern that brings all the colors in mind together as accent pieces.

I like warn tones with cream and khaki - peach, golden yellow, and lime or sage 2] add some brass, in lamps, picture frames, flower pots 3] add green plants or trees - even fake ones make a big difference! 4] shelf area items should be about three feet tall - statues, porcelin jars, etc.
