- I would definitely repaint. Orange is really out there to decorate around. We did our entire home in two colors of sage green. I have black and cherry wood throughout and the colors made the rooms pop. It's a neutral so every accessory color goes with it. Taupes and tans also show off black well. Again as a neutral any color accessory will show well with it. It's easier for me to choose color as accessories so I can change them at will rather than having to repaint to make a room work.
- First I would prime the walls. Then I would install wainscoting or a molding package to simulate wainscoting. Use a chair rail around the room and maybe even a crown molding. Paint your walls a contrasting color to your furniture and the oak floor. Stain the molding, or paint it, to complement the oak of your floor. Valances over the windows and floor to ceiling draperies. Get rid of the ceiling fan.
- Go with a light grey or beige if you don't want to overdo the color on the walls. You can jazz it up with vivid color by choosing accessories such as a bedspread or comforter cover, pillows. Choose black or pewter metal framed pictures with your taste in color; you could go with black and white or color splashed pictures or paintings The window covering I wouldn't overdo, maybe solid colored blinds that blend in with the decor. If the oak floors are in good shape no need to cover them with carpet, maybe just a nice rug or two at the entrance or side of the bed. Go with a modern lamp or two to set off the look. If you want color on the walls, the rust and deep reds are really sharp looking if the bedroom isn't too small.
- I painted mine a med. sage green & did an asian theme. My furniture is black, lt.beige carpet, ivory roman shades on the windows with nice black lace panels over that. I used black framed asian theme pictures & vases with black, gold & red accents. I have a black & gold comforter set. I also have a couple of magesty palms in front of the windows. It looks semi-formal, but very cozy & restful. It's my haven.

- Since your furniture is black I would definitely repaint the walls. For a modern look, paint a sandy beige and accent with white and light blue. Or you could paint your walls a light icy blue and accent with navy and white, even a splash of red. If you like green, a soft celery would look good too. Once you get rid of the orange, you have tons of options with black furniture.
