Is there anything wrong with putting furniture over a closed vent on the floor in your home?
A new dresser in our master bedroom looks ridiculous unless centered against the wall and in that place it would be covering one of two floor vents. The said vent is closed and you can't feel any air coming out, but we weren't sure if it was okay or not.

- will probably make the room a little cooler, but it won't hurt anything to cover it.
- Other than making the room a little cooler, there is a possibility that it may dry out the wood of the dresser causing it to crack. I know you would think it is already dry (the wood) but I have seen it happen.
- By blocking or closing any vents is costing money when trying to heat or cool your home. IE your system has a rated capacity and by closing /blocking vents your capacity is reduced but your system will continue to use (and possibly increase) the same amount of electricty/gas it takes to run. And you lose out on that.
