Correct number of walls to paint?

I would like to paint my master bedroom, and was thinking of a olive green! My furniture is large and room is not that bright! My color scheme that I have going on is dark purple accented with an antique green/gold color! The room is dark as I have only an atrium door that provides day light. The walls are currently eggshell and I want to liven the room up with color! HELP!

  1. DIYSOS
  2. Paint them all. Or do the one behind your bed a more golden color by adding a small amount of gold to your original paint. It will bring more light in and reflect better with the added gold. The room sounds great. I love purples and plums.I have plum and med olive grn and eggshell in my bedroom. You can also paint your ceiling a very light white with a very little gold in it to brighten the room. Have a great time!
  3. How about painting the wall behind the bed the olive green and the other three walls a lighter shade of the same green. The paint strips in stores show all the matching colors. Who says rooms always have to be light. A bedroom can be dark like a cozy den to snuggle in and relax. Whatever you feel good in is what you should paint it. Good luck, remember its only paint and can be redone.
  4. Dark colors make a dark room...use light colors like pastels to keep it bright in there. Dark purple and antique green-gold will only make your gloomy room even darker. Try a light pastel green if that is more your fancy, but not olive! Why do you think they call it olive drab?
  5. be careful with that dark purple...itll make your room seem even smaller.
  6. You say you want to brighten up your room but you want to paint it olive green and a dark purple which will look nice but it will make your room look smaller and keep it dark, i would opt for pastel colour walls and a darker colour around trimmings.
  7. a bedroom is for going to sleep in so it should be dark rather than light, purple is a suitable colour not dark or light use different shades for looking at to go to sleep and waking upto
  8. i would paint all walls and ceiling in the same colour
