How should I decorate my Master Bedroom??
Ok, so I just moved into a condo with my longtime beau and he said he was going to leave the decorating, painting, and furnishing up to me (he's so sweet). So, everything looks great so far. The livingroom is a creamy off white color, same as the kitchen and the hallway. My son's bedroom is blue. The bathroom is white. When it came to our bedroom, I said I wanted an exotic theme. Island decor, plants, etc. The carpet is a sandy color with specs of blue, red, green, and yellow. I painted the walls green, and it is a mighty cactus green. The room is rather large and has white trim. He asked if I was sure I knew what I was doing, and I said, "yes, of course!' Well, I'm second guessing my idea...so do you have any??? We will be buying the furniture accordingly...but I refuse to repaint. HELP!

- stencil some exotic palms over one wall in lighter green. buy a bamboo headboard for the bed, and max out on large plants. the plants are great to oxygenate the room while your sleeping for a great nights sleep.
- You picked a tough color, but it can be done. Have you been to any of those international import stores lately...similar to Pier One kinda but larger. Anyway, creating an international theme, one that reminds one of a mediteranean or middle eastern theme could be very effective with a bright green wall. I agree that adding some pattern to the wall would be nice but with some effective lighting. Add some lamps/scones and maybe sheer silk curtains in a complementary shade like lighter green or gold. Use colors that remind you of a sari. Right now, Magenta/Royal blue/Gold and bright green can create a most attractive look with gold accents and the right lighting. Just a thought.
- well.....if you absolutely refuse to repaint then maybe you could buy light furniture so it won't look to dark. hmm do you have a set precise image in mind? that can help if you don't. like for me when i try to imagine a look in my head i have to either look online or in magazines for similar looks, just so i can know exactly what i'm doing. so if you haven't already, look around for inspiration of the look you want. here are some images i found: http://www.thefurniture.com/store/images/CZE/B6900/B6900_502set.jpg http://www.thefurniture.com/store/images/CZE/B9400/B9400_501.jpg http://www.greekhotel.com/dodecane/patmos/petra/img/02.jpg http://farm2.static.flickr.com/1440/1031738431_c2e0bb9bc1.jpg?v=0 http://shop.robbstucky.com/collectionimages/reg/IslandStyle_Med_BR.jpg with some of those images you'd probably have to repaint! buy some tropical, colorful plants too. hope this helps!
